We were contacted recently by Betsy Greer of the News & Observer to be featured in the publications new North Carolina Makers series. Betsy had recently come across our wooden wick candle collection and wanted to learn more about what we do here at Porch Fly.
We met with Betsy at BREW in downtown Raleigh to discuss our story, the humble beginnings of our brand, and how we ventured into candle making. She was polite enough to hear the "long version" and still stick around follow up questions. After our conversation, we offered her a Whiskey candle as a token of thanks, which she graciously refused due to the appearance of impropriety.
Later in the week, photographer and videographer, Juli Leonard met us at the studio to watch the magic happen. We put together a couple of cases of candles in front of Juli while getting to know one another and discussing our process. After a quick photo shoot and video of production, we sat down for a video interview (at the top).
It was so nice to share our story and craft with Betsy and Juli while getting to share our passion for all-natural soy wooden wick candles with a much larger audience. Check out the original article HERE.
Thanks for stopping by the porch!
